The Sacrifice

I have been attempting poems lately and I wrote this one earlier.

I look to the cross and I see His pain,

He was sacrificed so that I could gain.

He gave me life, a life so full,

One that is hard but never dull.

He paid the price for my sin and shame,

He sees my tears, and feels my pain.

He knows my heart, and my mind,

He always loves, and is always kind.

He never rejects, He will never leave,

He does not lie, and will not deceive.

He reaches out, holds me tight,

He guides my path, He is my light.

So I live for Him, I try my best,

I follow his ways, and I am blessed.

Sometimes I fail, and sometimes I fall,

But that is okay; Gods’ love covers all.
