Week Two: Assurance

Ephesians 1 verse 7

1 Peter 1 verse 5

Romans 8 verse 38-39

John 10 verse 27-29

1 John 5 verse 13

Philippians 1 verse 6

The above verses were used in our personal study time. One of the main points that we got out of these verses was that NOTHING can come between us and God. God is desperate for a relationship with us. We can try to run away from Him but He will always be right behind us. The verses from Romans spoke to different people within the group. These verses are a reminder that nothing – death, life, demons, the past, our future – can separate us from God’s love.

Memory Verse of the Week:

Being confident of this, that he who begins a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus

Philippians 4 verse 6 was the main Bible verse that we focused on this week.

My personal thoughts on this verse were that God knows what He is doing. We can be certain that His plans are greater than the ones we have for ourselves. It is in our nature to feel that we are not good enough and to feel that sometimes life has no purpose. However we have to believe that we are a work in progress, and that God is working in us. We will never be perfect on this earth but when our time is finished here and we move to eternity, we will be God’s perfect masterpiece. His work in us will be complete.
